"Remember Lot's wife."
Luke 17:32
Today's Word
This powerful, often overlooked verse speaks volumes about the consequences of looking back when God has called you to move forward. Lot’s wife, despite clear instruction to flee and never look back, turned her gaze toward the past—and it cost her everything. She became a pillar of salt, frozen in her moment of hesitation. The very thing she clung to—her past—kept her from the promise of God’s future.
This is a wake-up call. God’s Word tells us, "Do not look back." The past—whether it's past hurts, past mistakes, or even past comforts—has no place in the future God has for you. You cannot move forward if you’re constantly looking back. God has a better plan, a higher purpose, and a future filled with His promises.
In moments of uncertainty, the temptation is real to look back at what’s familiar. But God’s purpose for your life is ahead, not behind. His call is to press forward, to fix your eyes on what He has prepared, and to trust that His plan is greater than anything left behind.
Don’t let the past anchor you down. Break free from it and move forward with boldness, knowing that God’s destiny for you is waiting, and it’s better than anything you’ve ever known.
Prayer
Father, thank You for the glorious future You’ve prepared. Help me to keep my eyes fixed on what lies ahead and to let go of anything that would hinder my forward progress. I choose to trust Your plan and move forward in Your purpose. Let my heart remain focused on Your calling, knowing that Your plan is far better than anything I’ve left behind. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
